Music has played a very important role in my life and career. It was a natural evolution
from musician to technician, to producer and director. Over the years I have worked in as
exotic of places as Addas Ababa, Ethiopia, to Nevis , West Indies, to Cardiff Wales, to
every major market in the United States and Canada. I have worked with icons like Elton
John, Cher, The Allman Brothers, Jimmy Buffett, Tom Jones, Rod Stewart, Bill Cosby,
three US presidents, and so many others that I can't list them all ...much less remember
them.

My art has always served me well in many arenas. I have worked in film, video,
animation, set design/construction, photography.  I have returned over and over to
drawing…painting and constructs.

In September of last year the adoption of our second daughter who is now seven years
old,  became final. She is.... the defining definition of " drama queen." We are such a
middle class American family it scares me. However...... you notice, I didn't say normal or
average...

Over the years I have never completely stopped working in the visual arts. But I also
haven’t been overly productive. Not until the last trip to Italy. I had the time then to see
the wonders of the Renaissance… and the locations that gave birth to the movements.

This series of paintings have very obvious influences.

If you find this interesting I might suggest you look at and follow some of the links on

I had a wonderful childhood growing up in a small town in the
pan handle of Florida, ... a Navy town.  I grew up on, in, and
around the water... fishing, swiming. ... surfing.. boating ... even
riding beach buggies... back when you could run them on the
beach.

My high school years were fun, being a member of the Pensacola Fighting Tigers Band. I owe
a lot to the band director then... he was an important influence on so many peoples lives. Mr.
Holston is still teaching.... and as controversial as ever.

In the fall of 1965 my college career started with my entrance into Pensacola Junior College.
During the time I attended college I worked as a musician in a regionally popular rock-n-roll
band by the name of the "Scoundrels", to pay for my education. The band was successful
enough to not only pay for my college tuition, but it also afforded me the luxury of buying lots
of funny looking clothes, several guitar and amp combinations, surfboard after surfboard, …….
several VW buses, ..... a 1957 Cadillac hearse and a couple of Harley Davidson motorcycles

My first great adventure was an extended stay in Europe and the UK after graduating from
college. That set the pattern of my life, as I made a vow to live my life as an adventure. I have
succeeded more or less to a greater extent. I live on a lake in the foot hills of the Great Smoky
Mountains.
